Interview of our first classified in the last edition. KATRIN LEUMANN.

INT: What is your balance of the 2016? KATRIN: My goal is to win some places in the UCI Ranking and then try to finish a worldcup in the top 20 again.

INT: How do you prepare the new season? KATRIN: I was one week in Mataro (E) for a trainingscamp, some days in Malage and I spent 2.5 weeks in South Africa for a longer trainingscamp. The other weeks I train in Switzerland.

INT: Tell us about your race calendar. KATRIN: I started racing at the Snow Bike Festival for fun…then I will do some little races before I start the season with the Proffix Swiss Cup. Then I will race the worldcup as well.

INT: What are you going to do in order to get in good shape? KATRIN: Train seriously and have a good balance between working and training.

INT: What is the aim this season? KATRIN: A top 15 place at a worldcup.

INT: Tell us the advantages of being onthis race. Is it the first time? KATRIN: It is a great race to start the season. It is a very nice course with some technical parts. I like it very much.

INT: What do you think about that circuit? Which is your favourite area? KATRIN: My favorite part was the singletrail uphill and downhill.

INT: How was your race last year? KATRIN: I came directly from the Andalucia Bike Race so I still felt a little tired. But I could win the race so the feeling was secondary!

INT: Will you participate again this year? KATRIN: I don't know yet. I'm not in Spain at this weekend so I don't know if I travel that long for only one race. We will see...

INT: Would you give any advice to the participants of the International XCO Chelva? KATRIN: It also can be a little cold in the hills behind Valencia!

INT: What will your team be this year 2017? KATRIN: I'm a single team rider. I'm supported from goldwurst-power and Sputnikbike Shop. I'm my own chef and I like that.

INT: What materials is your bike composed of? KATRIN I have a Specialized Epic with XTR brakes, Sram shifting and a DTSwiss fork.

Good luck for this season Katrin!
